Tasks

-Leading projects across a wide range of ecological disciplines and clients with the opportunity to mentor junior team members -Field-based botanical survey work, including vegetation mapping, ecological monitoring, targeted threatened flora survey and Vegetation Quality Assessments using the DEECA Habitat Hectares method -Working independently, or with other ecologists and professionals, in the planning, delivery and management of ecology surveys; analysis and evaluation of results, impact assessments, and the design and implementation of successful mitigation strategies -Assisting with managing the technical and financial performance of ecological and Environmental Impact Assessment projects. -Ecological impact assessment and offsetting for a range of projects and scale, and supporting internal clients with delivering the ecological requirements within multi-disciplinary tenders and projects

What You Bring

-Previous professional consultancy experience in ecology / botany. -Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field, with working knowledge of Victorian and Commonwealth environmental legislation (e.g., EPBC Act, FFG Act, Planning and Environment Act). -Strong experience in habitat and protected species surveys, efficient data recording, and a valid Victorian driver’s license, with the ability to work outdoors on extended field programs. -Proficiency in vegetation surveys across various Victorian environments, habitat assessments (VQA accreditation essential, BAM accreditation desirable), and GIS tools such as ESRI FieldMaps. -Willingness to undertake fieldwork across Victoria
