Accounting Manager

Overview

Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting for Delaware E-ZPass toll program.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Issue closed account, overpayment and appeal refund checks -Responsible for coding/approval of invoices -Support budgeting and forecasting processes and provide variance analysis. -Preparation of monthly accruals -Enforce and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. -Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits. -Provide coaching, development, and performance evaluations for team members. -Approves journal entries -Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations. -Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings. -Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure integrity of financial data. -Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP -Collaborate with other departments on financial matters, reporting, and system implementations including bug testing

What You Bring

-A minimum of 3 years of experience in a management or leadership position -Ability to communicate with all levels of management and customer -Proficient in MS Office (including Excel, Word and MS Project) -CPA preferred -Call Center experience -Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance or MBA. -Effective verbal & writing skills -Flexible and energetic with strong analytical skills -A minimum 5 years of experience with the preparation of financial statements according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), preferable high volume transactions
