The Role

Overview

Marshals aircraft, loads baggage, provides ground services and security at airport.

Tasks

-Conducting comprehensive security screenings for departing passengers and their baggage. Additionally, performing mobile, foot, and static patrols within assigned areas. -Monitoring Security: Vigilantly observing, inspecting, monitoring, and screening all passengers, airport personnel and crew regularly to detect any potential security breaches or safety hazards. -Proactively preventing breaches of aviation security and safety within their designated area of responsibility. This includes taking action to mitigate or resolve any security or safety concerns that may arise. -Perform safe and efficient operations of all ground service equipment. -Prevent breaches of security in the area assigned and being prepared to promptly respond to any calls for assistance from the pilot or crew of any aircraft, addressing their concerns and needs swiftly and effectively. -Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. -Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form. -Write routine reports and correspondence. -Responsible for maintaining safety and security of aircraft. -The RSA on occasion may lift or move (with help) up to 100 pounds, and/or more frequently lift or move 60 pounds. RSAs are regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, stand and walk. -Loading and unloading of aircraft baggage and cargo. -Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. -Marshall aircraft on the ramp (includes directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing and towed aircraft)

What You Bring

-High School graduate or GED. -Good communication skills. -Be at least 18 years of age. -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus. -Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules. -Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. -Ability to lift 60 pounds comfortably. -De-ice Service experience. -The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can vary dramatically depending on location and time of day. Use of provided hearing protection or acceptable alternative is required. -Prior Ramp Service experience. -Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S. -Aircraft de-icing / anti-icing. -Able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English. -Speak effectively one-to-one and before groups of customers or employees of the organization. -Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history and pre-employment drug test. -Possess a valid Driver’s License preferred. -Must be willing to work in inclement weather. -Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
