BIM Technician

Overview

Perform BIM modeling, coordination, and structural drafting at entry to mid level.

Tasks

-Produces final deliverables per client requirements (file uploads, Printing, etc.). -Incorporates company drawing and BIM standards in project work. -Coordinates BIM assemblies, elements, and interfaces. Communicates with the Project Engineer to address discrepancies and issues. -Communicates with the Project Engineer to understand and follow project plans, workflows, deliverables, and schedules. -Provides miscellaneous BIM support to the engineering/design team, such as coordination/working views, 3D views, sections, etc. to assist with engineering work and coordination. -Assists other team members with execution of project tasks and deliverables to meet project deadlines. -Identifies basic constructability issues and incompleteness in BIM models, and communicate them to the Engineer or Senior BIM Technician for resolution. -Project setup, planning, coordination, and communication. -Produces BIM modeling and 2D/3D planwork, including sheet layouts. -Produces structural details for construction drawings. -Construction drawing layout, project documentation and detailing.

What You Bring

-Ability to exercise attention to detail, strong organizational and critical thinking skills. -Knowledgeable in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Bluebeam. Knowledge in structural detailing software (TEKLA, SDS/2, etc.) a plus. -Ability to prioritize tasks to work on multiple assignments concurrently, and function in a high-demand and fast-paced environment. -High school diploma (or equivalent) required. Vocational/Technical Certification preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering a plus. -Design/construction principles, methods and terminology. -BIM execution plans, LOD matrix, BIM workflows, and data management. -Ability to take ownership of quality and completeness of assigned task. -Ability to work independently and in a team environment. -Resourcefulness and willingness to troubleshoot software when necessary. -Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, SharePoint, etc. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. -Self-motivated and innovative with a strong work ethic and keen interest in design. -One to three years’ experience in BIM or Structural Drafting with knowledge in the following areas: -Clash detection, quality control, and model health.
