Senior on‑site engineer managing design, construction and project coordination.

Tasks
-Plan and design temporary structures, following construction and government standards, using design software, and drawing tools. -Review status reports for management, client, and others. -Review project proposals and plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures, project staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources. -Will climb ladders, work at heights, walk and stand on uneven surfaces, ride or work from a barge, pier, vessel, etc. -Confer with project staff to outline work plans and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. -Develop and maintain resource-loaded project schedules. -Formulation of technical proposals, including technical means and methods, schedules, and pricing. -Organize and manage subcontractors. -Act as a Quality Control/Quality Assurance representative as required. -Assist the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the project, including safety, performance, budget, scheduling, equipment management, and quality. -Work with, and be part of, the estimating departments during project procurement phases. -Coordinate project activities with Ballard personnel, subcontractors, and joint venture partners. -Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. -May act as the Ballard’s lead representative in the absence of the Project Manager. -Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.

What You Bring
-Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. -Proficient with a wide range of software (or willing and able to learn) including, CAD, Blue Beam, HeavyBid, HeavyJob, MS Project or P6, and Microsoft Office Suite. -Wears various PPE (respirators, fall protection, etc.). -Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer. -Works well in an unstructured environment. -Effective written and verbal communication skills -Has worked with, and has knowledge of, change order recognition and management. -Ability to travel up to 75% of the year. -Can work in a high demand environment and is able to meet established goals and objectives. -Lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, squatting for various periods of time. -Must be able to lift to 20 pounds. -At least seven years’ experience in heavy civil construction -Advanced construction software operating capabilities. -Excellent technical writing and verbal skills. -May work outdoors for long periods of time in various seasons and conditions. -Working outdoors in various temperatures and conditions. -Will travel on various land, water, and aircraft. -Bachelor’s Degree Construction Management, Construction Engineering Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or related field -Strong organizational and time management skills
