The Role

Overview

Consult on design, analysis, and construction of marine and waterfront structures.

Tasks

-Provide construction administration and field observation. -Develop construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates. -Prepare technical reports. -Inspect, evaluate, analyze, and design a variety of marine, waterfront, port, and harbor structures, facilities, and infrastructure. -Assist with training, mentoring, and managing junior staff and interns. -Prepare calculations for project components that may include concrete, steel, aluminum, composite, and timber elements. -Assist in proposal development and business development efforts. -Support waterfront stabilization and resiliency projects that involve wind, wave, current, tide, flood, sea level rise, mooring, berthing, and seismic loads.

What You Bring

-Registered professional engineer in the United States, or ability to obtain within 12 months of joining SGH. -Problem-solving ability: capability to solve minor or complex problems using data, logic, and judgment. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills. -4+ years of experience in waterfront/marine/port/ocean engineering; Experience with ASCE MOP 130, ASCE 61, PIANC Guidelines is a plus. -Communication skills: excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills; Ability to convey information to internal and external clients clearly. -Ability to travel for client meetings and business development, including some overnight travel. -M.S. degree in Civil, Structural, Coastal, or Ocean Engineering required.
