Lead Systems Engineer

Tasks

-Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work with mechanical, electrical, perception, and AI teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration. -Sensor & Hardware Integration: Interface with LiDARs, IMUs, GPS, RTK, cameras, and other components via SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, and custom protocols. Firmware Architecture & Development: Design and implement robust embedded firmware for real-time systems involving motor control and sensor fusion -System Optimization: Improve performance, power consumption, and reliability for embedded platforms under constrained environments. -Diagnostics & Debugging: Use tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and accelerometers to troubleshoot system-level issues. -Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, set best practices for system development, system testing and technical roadmapping. -Hardware Bring-up: Lead board bring-up efforts for new prototypes and production hardware.

What You Bring

-BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university. -Track record of commitment to prior employers -Experience with LiDAR calibration, point cloud data handling, and sensor synchronization. -When you join CoStar Group, you’ll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed. -Experienced in first principles engineering and problem solving -10+ years of embedded systems experience, ideally in robotics, aerospace, or automotive environments. -Experience with control systems (e.g., PID, ESCs, PWM, motor drivers). Experience with sensors and electronic systems, have designed all parts of a hardware product. -Experience with high precision, durable mechanical systems using automated motion control. -Python scripting for test automation or debugging. -Experience in application development for iOS and Android -Proficiency in C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded motor control and/or sensor based systems -Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2, or SLAM systems.
