The Role

Overview

Lead and manage multi‑disciplinary transportation design projects for Wisconsin clients.

Tasks

-Prepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects -Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients and governmental entities -Supervise the work of engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project -Develop project work plans and budget projections and effectively deploy resources -Review, interpret and act on business metrics, including utilization, backlog, work in process and account receivables -Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery -Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures -Grow, mentor and train staff -Complete monthly project accounting and invoicing -Represent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agencies -Write proposals and participate and/or lead interviews -Lead business development activities -Coordinate with government agencies, utility providers or other outside agencies -Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed -Build relationships internally and externally with clients and strategic partners -Manage the design and delivery of multidiscipline projects in a profitable manner -Coordinate with other disciplines, support services and subconsultants -Oversee the technical aspects of various projects

What You Bring

-Demonstrated ability to manage complex transportation design projects in a profitable manner -Track record of successfully winning and delivering projects -Detail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptual -Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff -Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization -Knowledge and experience with the full roadway project lifecycle from preliminary studies through final design -Proficient in Microsoft Office applications -Ability to coach and motivate other -8+ years of progressive experience in transportation design and project management -BS in Civil Engineering -Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in WI (or capable of obtaining within 6 months) -Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills -Outgoing, friendly, approachable -Ability to manage staff and direct resources effectively -Demonstrated ability to manage projects under the WisDOT delivery process -Experience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategies -Extensive knowledge of geometric design and other related design elements
