The Role
Overview
Assist in designing, documenting, and coordinating plumbing and fire protection systems.

Tasks
-Ensure service and project work are carried out to an excellent standard and quality within agreed deadlines and budget. -Prepare construction drawings from schematic design through construction administration. -Conduct field surveys to document existing conditions and observe progress during construction. -Participate in interdisciplinary coordination with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical and civil engineering teams. -Perform calculations using standard engineering software and tools. -Contribute to quality assurance and constructability reviews. -Help develop discipline specific standards and specifications. -Assist in client meetings and value engineering sessions. -Support the development of plumbing and fire protection system designs under the guidance of senior engineers.

What You Bring
-Internship experience at engineering related firm preferred, and proven interest in the built environment and sustainable design. -Proficiency with BIM modelling software, such as Revit and AutoCAD. -Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible manner. -Coursework in mechanical design, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid hydraulics/dynamics. -Eagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. -Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Civil, Sanitary, Environmental, or Architectural Engineering. -Awareness of building, plumbing and fire codes, (IPC, NFPA).
