Inspect railroad tracks for compliance with FRA standards and produce detailed reports.

Tasks

-Build and maintain effective customer relationships -Detect deviations from federal (FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart A-F)/state regulations and identify areas requiring repair or maintenance -Inspect railroad track structure (primarily on foot) for compliance with railroad standards, state regulations, & FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart A-F -Produce accurate and detailed reports for all tracks inspected -Implement remedial action on defects, pending repair -Participate in derailment investigations if required -Comply with all railroad/client safety rules, FRA guidelines, and RailPros' policies and procedures

-Excellent problem-solving skills -Experience in coordinating project tasks with parties of conflicting interests -Valid driver’s license required -Ability to travel to various locations in the region for extensive periods of time -Ability to work independently and as part of a team -Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications -High School Diploma required -Competent in using a tape measure, level board, stringline, taper/step gauge, and straightedge -Experience in monitoring multiple work sites and allocating time efficiently -Comfort with sharing knowledge of track standards with clients, FRA, railroad employees, and other RailPros employees -Ability to demonstrate knowledge of FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart A-F and be qualified by RailPros manager -Ability to pass “eRailSafe” background check and railroad safety and security training -Provide clear written and verbal communication of track conditions -Proficiency in digital technology with the ability to use a tablet and/or laptop computer -Proven ability to work with minimal supervision -Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), Adobe PDF Suite -Ability to lead safety meetings and job site safety briefings -Minimum 5 years' experience as a railroad track inspector, MOW Foreman, or MOW Supervisor -Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
