Tasks

-Develop and maintain client relationships -Prepares plan of action to resolve project issues -Fosters a Learning Culture: Creating an inspiring and engaging atmosphere where people feel motivated to grow, experiment, and learn new skills. -Provide input on and execute the strategic vision for the practice area’s local market -Act as primary contact for the client and is responsible for overall project management -Reviews work and propose changes to design, and to comply with building codes and budget -Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy. -Ensure project development, documentation and its completion meets schedule and budget -Identifies Talent: Actively maintaining awareness of internal and external talent, current abilities, and hiring needs. -Mentor project team and foster positive team spirit that supports everyone’s efforts to succeed -Act as primary contact for the client and oversee project teams, providing oversight to project managers, project architects and project designers -Ensure staff adheres to HZ’s policies, practices and procedures -Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions -Coordinate workload within project teams and work with other project directors to manage workload across multiple offices -Sharing Information: Conveying up-to date information in the most efficient and useful manner to the appropriate stakeholders. -Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client). Verifies client satisfaction routinely and shares feedback with team. -Executes Strategy: Ensuring that people remain focused on accomplishing strategic goals by thoughtfully planning tasks and overcoming obstacles. -Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of projects with a high degree of technical complexity -Monitor internal staffing needs and coordinate client staff and their internal customers, architects, engineers, contractors and vendors -Maintains project budgets and schedules while meeting client needs, business objectives and design guidelines -Proactively works with PM to strategize resolving issues that impact project performance. Reviews progress with PM at least monthly (including & completes vs. % spent) and that PM is adhering to weekly rhythm. -Oversees staff deliverables and production assigned to their projects to ensure client, legal, and company requirements are met. -Negotiate contracts -Manage bid or contractor selection process -Write proposals, recommend appropriate fees, and participate in contract negotiations with clients and consultants -Successfully contributes to the overall profitability and financial performance on projects. -Successfully and consistently functions as Lead Principal-in-Charge for their designated Practice Area in geographic market. -Assist market sector teams in preparing proposals, calling on new and prospective clients, and participating in new project presentations -Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.

What You Bring

-Registered Licensed Architect in Florida required -Critical Thinking: Analyzing problems and solutions by evaluating the quality of the information available from different sources and avoiding decision-making bias. -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledgeable to direct staff in effective use of Revit including coordinated 3D BIM modeling of component systems, AutoCAD for 2D designs, and software for rendering and imagery of concepts and designs -Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion -Proven business development experience -Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations. -Awareness of sustainable design approaches -Positive leadership and mentoring abilities that foster a motivated team environment -Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple projects with varying deadlines -Advanced knowledge of current building design and construction means, methods and techniques -Competent, knowledgeable, service leader in the market(s) they service. -Ability to oversee preparation of architectural documents and specifications for projects -Good verbal communication and presentation skills -Excellent leadership skills and ability to grow and lead teams -LEED Accredited is a plus -The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities -Minimum 15 years in the profession as an Architect -Knowledge of architectural history and current architectural design discourse -Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer -Bachelor of Architecture required -Strong technical capabilities with code knowledge and ability to convey technical issues and design ideas
