Tasks

-Contribute to outage coordination and short-term market scheduling by integrating generation data and analyzing day-ahead strategies. Help optimize energy delivery and ensure operational plans align with market opportunities. -Support activities such as hydroelectric energy forecasting, forward price modeling, market product structuring, and correlation analysis. Learn to interpret market data and translate it into actionable strategies. -Participate in process enhancement initiatives, documentation updates, and policy development that improve how OPG interfaces with the market. -Work alongside experienced traders, analysts, and operations staff to deliver high-quality market insights and recommendations. Participate directly in projects that drive commercial value and operational excellence across OPG’s generating fleet. -Engage with internal partners (plant operations, finance, and commercial groups) and external stakeholders including the IESO, OEB, Hydro One, and neighbouring ISOs. Assist in managing contracts, agreements, and cross-market interactions.

What You Bring

-Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment -Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills -Must have less than 2-years of relevant work experience -Graduated anytime between 2024 up to and including February 2026 from a 4-year university degree in Business, Finance, Science, Engineering or equivalent -70% GPA (B-) or higher (transcript must be included in application) -Organizational and leadership skills -Willingness to learn, take initiative and trouble-shoot
