Tasks
You’ll work closely with municipal planners, elected officials, and policy makers to stay ahead of planning changes and uncover new redevelopment opportunities within the company’s portfolio. Representing the organization at community consultations, planning committees, and council meetings, you’ll help guide projects through the approval process with clarity and confidence. As the Vice President, Development and Real Estate Investment, you will play a pivotal role in driving the firm’s growth and performance across Canada, leading major transactions, strategic negotiations, small and large scale developments and real estate investment initiatives that align with corporate goals. In this role, you’ll take the lead on real estate transactions and negotiations across Canada, ensuring every deal delivers strong value while staying on budget and on schedule. You’ll oversee the full lifecycle of development and redevelopment projects spanning multi-residential, commercial, and industrial properties — from the earliest concept through to completion. As the primary contact for real estate due diligence and integration in mergers and acquisitions, you’ll play a key role in shaping how the company expands and evolves. Beyond project work, you’ll develop and implement best practices in real estate strategy, keeping them aligned with broader financial and organizational objectives. Your work will extend across every stage of the development process — entitlement, design, permitting, financing, construction, and sales — ensuring that each project aligns with both operational goals and long-term strategic priorities. You’ll also identify ways to optimize the company’s portfolio, improve cost efficiency, and pursue new investment opportunities that support future growth. Strong relationships will be central to your success — whether collaborating with landlords, asset managers, investors, or business leaders.
