Tasks

-Manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. -Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria -Manage the inspections of construction projects and materials for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved construction plans/specifications -Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. -Communicate with contractors if test failures occur. -Produce daily and weekly reports

What You Bring

-Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites as well as comply with applicable safety codes and requirements. -Good knowledge of soil analysis, materials, compaction, and density tests -10 Hour OSHA Construction Certificate or ability to obtain. -Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus. -Thorough knowledge of engineering practices including experience working on dredging projects -Material Testing Certifications or the ability to obtain in a timely manner -Applies an increased amount of professional judgment and discretion -Good communication skills with clients and staff. -High School Diploma or GED -Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels -Must consistently apply Woolpert procedures -Construction Management Degree and / or 5 - 10+ years of construction experience -Good ability at performing quality control reviews and assists with quality assurance procedures within areas of expertise -Good daily report writing and accurate quantity tracking ability. -Capable of resolving minor issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. -Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle. -Good knowledge at ensuring inspections are completed according to contract protocols. -Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel. -Good ability at analyzing and programs independently -Strong knowledge at reviewing and interpreting construction documents, site drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications -Good knowledge of contract administration and pay estimates -Good knowledge of construction management, inspections, methods and materials -Familiarity with construction observation reporting and procedures. -DOT Certifications or the ability to obtain in a timely manner
