Tasks
-Deploy and maintain development and production GIS infrastructure solutions to support JMT’s clients and users -Plan, organize, and execute tasks efficiently and effectively while meeting project requirements. -Architect solutions and Enterprise GIS environments to meet client requirements -Support product and business plan development activities. -Coordinate with the marketing team to develop effective campaigns that market our GIS solutions and services to internal and external clients. -Coordinate with Regional Directors and Section Heads to build relationships with internal and external clients to drive new business. -Perform hands on research and testing to evaluate potential solutions -Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. -Implement GIS applications and toolsets within the Esri ArcGIS Ecosystem for clients and internally to support JMT initiatives -Develop training programs, provide user training, and develop technical documentation. -Participate in professional organizations, work groups, conferences and special interest group events. -Help implement growth strategies, participate in business meetings, and recommend changes to existing business practices to increase exposure and generate additional revenue. -Principal GIS resource to develop technical approaches, including RFQ, RFI, RFP responses for proposals, and support the Go/No-Go process. -Support project and task managers with the project lifecycle, including formulating and implementing project approaches, providing cost estimates, managing task-based work; monitoring and communicating task progress and risks to the project manager; and providing lessons learned in support of project close out. -Lead the definition and design of GIS applications and toolsets for projects -Develop and utilize ETL (Extract, Transfer and Load) processes and data automation via scripting to migrate data to and from different data containers or warehouses. -Utilize data from IoT, augmented reality, real-time data and big data to help users process, visualize and analyze their data and monitor critical assets -Develop deep learning analysis tools utilizing a wide variety of options including ArcGIS Desktop and server extensions, Python, Databricks, Jupyter Notebooks, R, and other statistical packages -Coordinate with the client and JMT IT to implement solutions, provide guidance on issue resolution, and software selection for end users -Utilize data acquired through reality capture and other available emerging technology (e.g., data lakes) to support workflows and analysis -Interface directly with internal and external clients to understand their business activities, workflows, needs and requirements; determine how GIS technology can help meet those requirements; and formulate and implement cost-effective GIS-based solutions. -Process, visualize and analyze real-time data provided by IoT platforms, third-party APIs, map services, enterprise databases (e.g., SQL, Oracle, DB2, open-source options, etc.) to perform on-the-fly queries and analysis -Develop GIS workflows and solutions (COTS or custom) for data creation, field collection, validation, and quality management maintained within ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, enterprise geodatabases/SDE, ArcGIS Server), ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, and open-source applications with a strong emphasis on utilizing Python, Arcade, Model Builder and Microsoft Power Automate -Establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships. -Identify internal and external opportunities to incorporate emerging technology options -Participate in client meetings and perform demos of tools and solutions. -Mentor JMT staff on utilizing GIS implementations -Monitor the health and usage of the GIS implementations and take proactive action to help get the most out of the investment -Track and evaluate market trends to introduce emerging GIS technology and drive innovation in technical approaches. -Build strategic business partnerships and understand our competition. -Analyze complex problems, evaluate alternatives, and make sound recommendations. -Develop dashboards and reports for senior management to gauge the performance and usage of the GIS infrastructure

What You Bring
-Master’s degree in geography, GIS, computer science, information technology, engineering, planning, or related field -Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, computer science, information technology, engineering, planning or related field. -Experience preparing and providing presentations in public and project settings. -Communicate and work collaboratively and effectively with project team members and customers in a remote and in-person environment. -8+ years of experience in the application of GIS technology to solve clients’ needs. -Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite including SharePoint, Teams, One Drive, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. -4+ of experience overseeing others in the delivery and execution of GIS solutions. -Experience with Python, SQL, Arcade, R, Power Automate, Databricks, JavaScript, Angular Framework, open-source GIS, MapBox, VertiGIS, REVIT, AutoCAD Civil 3D -Must be able to travel to client sites as well as to other JMT office locations and domestic travel for industry events as needed (up to 20% travel). -Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification. -Significant experience utilizing Esri’s latest suite of technology, including ArcGIS Desktop, Pro, Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online. -Ability to effectively articulate technical information to all levels of the organization, including customers, colleagues, and senior leadership both in oral and written formats. -Demonstrated understanding of Transportation and Linear Referencing concepts and application of GIS analysis to those markets. -In-depth knowledge of GIS concepts and analytical techniques, including geospatial data creation, conversion, manipulation, and analysis. -Experience writing technical documentation.
