Deputy CSA Engineering Supervisor leading design and team for DOD/USAF projects

Tasks

-Review vendor information from subcontractors -Provides technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, and coordinating these assignments -Create meaningful goals working with team and ensure goals are met -Involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, and may involve development of novel concepts, approaches, and solutions -Interface with the ultimate USAF client/customer for Northrop Grumman for technical issue studies, resolutions, and recommendations -Responsible for supervising engineers and helping to execute assignments concerned with specialized unique engineering requirements in a global business unit -Development of subcontractor scopes of work for execution of construction work implementing design documents -Represents the discipline on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions and as required to coordinate work -Makes decisions independently concerning problems within the discipline on the project -Build an inclusive team environment where all are able and expected to contribute to the maximum of their capabilities -Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team, such as geotechnical engineering and GIS Manage discipline work process execution and assure technical adequacy in accordance with company procedures, contract, and industry codes and standards -Execute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product -Supports design development engineering for the project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements

-Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. -Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact -Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computers in the discipline -Preferred Qualifications: Prior construction oversight experience Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000 Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense Experience with procurement automation tools Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building -Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) -Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance. -Minimum Qualifications: Experience planning and executing work in an Earned Value Management System environment Experience with project controls including scheduling, estimating engineering efforts, planning, and work packaging Prior engineering team leadership experience, relevant experience includes previous experience supervising others Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods Experience with Building Information Modeling and information automation Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Knowledge of precedents in the discipline and of principles and practices of related disciplines Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved Knowledge of industry /regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria pertinent to the discipline Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computers in the discipline -Experience with Building Information Modeling and information automation -BS degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or related), from an accredited university, with at least 10-13 years of relevant experience -Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building -Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Civil or Structural Engineering). -Demonstrate ownership of assigned actions to self and group and shows initiative in problem solving -Prior engineering team leadership experience, relevant experience includes previous experience supervising others -Experience with procurement automation tools -US citizenship is required per contract requirement. -Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved -Experience planning and executing work in an Earned Value Management System environment -Experience with project controls including scheduling, estimating engineering efforts, planning, and work packaging -Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000 Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense -Prior construction oversight experience -Knowledge of industry /regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria pertinent to the discipline -Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods -Knowledge of precedents in the discipline and of principles and practices of related disciplines -Basic Qualifications: US citizenship is required per contract requirement.
