The Role

Overview

Manage commercial aspects, cost control, contracts, and procurement for construction projects.

Tasks

-Preparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract. -Identification of insurance claims and understanding policy coverage. -Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change. -Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required. -Drafting of subcontracts including professional services. -Delegation of appropriate work to junior staff, whilst maintaining accountability -Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules. -Adhere to group procedures. -Ensure the site team adheres to group procedures and governance -Participate in the Project Kick Off meeting and input into and directly influence the production and maintenance of the Project Execution Plan. -Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required. -Cash Management including WIP control and cash flow production -Assist in cost control / cost mitigation. -Maintain site records. -Utilise the costing system. -Encourage and develop a culture of commercial awareness within the team -Assist in the preparation of project final accounts -Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts. -Preparation of internal commercial reporting, influence and contribute to monthly projects reviews and any other reports which may be required. -Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation. -Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers. -Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements.

What You Bring

-Positive engagement with Client equivalent position. -Degree qualified, A levels & HNC (construction related) -Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others. -Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards Chartership -Commercially astute. Knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract and Standard Methods of Measurement. -Experience within a construction/engineering/similar and commercial background. -Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
