Tasks

-Collaborate with the fire protection engineering team to learn and understand their needs and find way to support them and our clients’ needs. -Participate in pre-bid, pre-construction, and post project completion meetings. -Travel to Omaha periodically will be required. -Apply knowledge of NFPA & NEC standards to analyze hazards and identify appropriate design approach. -Meet productivity and timeline goals for bids produced, be able to meet scheduled deadlines. -Prepare detailed cost estimates including design, materials, fabrication, equipment, permits, subcontracts, consulting fees, and installation labor. -Travel to jobsites periodically will be required and encouraged. -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Demonstrate products or services and provide assistance in the best application of products or services. -Participate in project management of jobs. -Preliminary layout of fire alarm systems. -Develop positive working relationships with our business development staff, general contractors, and architects/engineers. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Maintain knowledge and have a clear understanding on the application of all local and national codes, specifications, and guidelines set forth by authorities having jurisdiction.

-High level of self-discipline, motivation, and ability to operate in a team environment. -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Regular, reliable attendance -Strong analytical, mathematical, and computer skills -Strong knowledge of local and national fire and building codes & government regulations. -Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. -Read and comprehend construction plans and specifications. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -NICET certification and/or willing to test for NICET certification -Superior organizational and time management skills. -Thorough understanding of general construction methods, practices, and terminology. -1+ years of experience in the fire alarm systems or similar low voltage industry areas. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. -Strong knowledge of project management principles.
