Tasks
The Payroll Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of payroll processing for both union and non-union employees across multiple states and job sites. This role ensures accurate, timely payroll in full compliance with company policies, union agreements, and federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in multi-state payroll operations, union payroll processing, and certified payroll reporting. This position also oversees payroll staff, systems, and workflows while maintaining confidentiality and operational efficiency. -Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate job costing, labor allocation, and payroll data integrity. -Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies; respond to employee inquiries and audit requests. -Manage payroll tax filings, year-end reporting, and W-2 processing in a timely manner. -Supervise, mentor, and train payroll staff, especially on construction-specific payroll practices. -Act as the Concur Expense System Administrator, managing configurations, user support, and compliance. -Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for government and union projects. -Maintain and enhance payroll systems, including integrations with timekeeping. -Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for hourly, salaried, union, and non-union employees across multiple states and job sites. -Produce accurate payroll-related reports for audits, workers’ compensation, and financial analysis. -Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including Davis-Bacon Act, prevailing wage requirements, and union contracts.

What You Bring
-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. -Demonstrated experience managing multi-state and union payrolls. -Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. -Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage complex payroll structures. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Experience with Payroll Processing in the Construction Industry (a plus). -Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP, JD Edwards, and Oracle Fusion. -Skilled in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools. -Minimum of 5 years of progressive payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role. -Strong working knowledge of prevailing wage laws, construction labor laws, and certified payroll reporting (a plus). -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
