The Role
Overview
Operate heavy construction equipment, ensure safety, inspections, and assist other trades.

Tasks
-Will inspect equipment. -The position will be expected to assist other crafts in their down times which may include non-operating activities. -Will assist in other job site related tasks as assigned while not operating. -May follow signal directions from a signaler in equipment operations. -Will access area of operations for safety issues and required processes and planning of equipment operations. -Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots. -Will be responsible for all safety aspects of operating the equipment. -May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. -Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools. -An Industrial Heavy Equipment Operator will operate one or more of the following construction equipment such as a CAT 140M Blade w/GPS, JD 750k Dozer W/GPS, and a CAT 349 Track hoe, 740 Trucks to move earth. -They will also be responsible for safety, equipment inspections, and possibly assisting with repairs. -Will operate various construction dirt equipment to move earth in a precision process. -Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.

What You Bring
-Must have knowledge of and be familiar with soil types. -Must have experience and knowledge of operating varies construction equipment including but not limited to: bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, backhoes, rollers, and graders. -Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE. -Must be reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing administrative processes such as but not limited to equipment inspection paperwork. -Must be able to meet all physical requirements. -Must be able to make it work on time and work the designated schedule and any overtime as needed with the proper notification. Preferred Additional Qualification -Must possess all Knowledge Skills and Abilities for positions. -Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting. -Valid Driver’s License. Reporting to -Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee. -Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc. -Must have basic mechanical knowledge and illustrate the abilities to inspect equipment. -Must illustrate knowledge of excavating and the specifications that are required for a given excavation. -Must have 2+ years of experience as a Dirt Equipment Operator in heavy industrial construction -Must have reliable transportation. -Will talk and hear to communicate. -Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations. -Must be able to follow instructions correctly. -May be required to have a valid driver’s license and meet a motor vehicle records check.
