Tasks

-Provides consistent, professional, courteous, and high-quality customer service. -Oversees the daily workflow of the department. -Responsible for the timely and accurate distribution of client invoices that are mailed each cycle. -Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment. -Maintain current and detailed collection notes. -Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Collections Manager and other staff. -Performs research and updated recordkeeping of customer information. -Responds to telephone inquiries and assists in resolving questions related to the customer accounts and documents accordingly. -Collaborates with the Collections Manager to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic (at least bimonthly) basis. -Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed. -Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy. -Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable. -Maintains confidentiality of financial records. -Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions. -Generates monthly billing statements based on the general ledger. -Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers. -Relays changes of information to appropriate employees. -Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested. -Apply client payments via check and credit card. -Initiates contact with customers having delinquent accounts, determining reason and arranging for collection. -Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

What You Bring

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -At least three years of related experience required. -Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. -Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier. -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. -High school diploma or equivalent required -Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers. -Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
