The Role

Lead Earthworks operations, manage teams, budgets, and stakeholder relations.

Tasks

-Working with senior management to develop strategic plans for the earthworks department, including improvements in processes and the incorporation of new technologies. -Apply contemporary practices in construction methodology to complete assigned works in compliance with client expectations, company objectives and contractual obligations. -Stakeholder management: Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged and that beneficial relationships between the project and the client, subcontractors, community and other external parties are developed and maintained -Operational management, overseeing bulk earthworks projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. -Manage development of and present to construction manager construction plan, programming and completion schedules. -Delivery of infrastructure projects, with exposure to Civil, Earthworks, Roadworks and Rail construction -Authorise engagement of subcontractors, management of subcontractor work to achieve outcomes. -Encouraging the adoption of innovative practices and technologies to improve efficiency and productivity in earthworks operations. -People management: Establish and develop a high performing team to ensure the project has the capability to achieve targets -Providing leadership and direction to site engineers, supervisors, and teams working on the bulk earthworks, fostering a collaborative work environment. -Financial management: Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with JH’s authority and reporting frameworks and maximise the profit margin for the project -Monitor progress, ensuring that work quality and techniques are of a high standard and report regularly on project performance, and cost against baseline targets.

What You Bring

-Experience in remote location roster based work and highly resilient -Direct or transferable experience from other disciplines welcome -Excellent time management and prioritisation -Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance, and reporting procedures -Previous experience within a Tier One contractor -Degree qualified Civil Engineer, Construction Management or similar -Exposure or knowledge in material processing, crushing, screening, and blasting -Passion for teamwork and delivering on tight deadlines
