Lead engineer overseeing design and implementation of high‑voltage substation projects.

Tasks
-Participate in site visits, field investigations, and construction support as needed. -Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & control, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions. -Manage a team of substation designers and engineers. -Support procurement activities by preparing technical specifications and evaluating vendor proposals. -Develop and review engineering drawings and documents such as general arrangements, elevation drawings, conduit and cable schedules, and bill of materials. -Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices. -Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards (e.g., IEEE, NESC, NEC), and client requirements. -Lead the physical design of high-voltage substations (typically 69kV to 500kV), including layout, equipment selection, grounding, lightning protection, and cable routing. -Interface with clients, utilities, and regulatory agencies to address technical issues and project requirements. -Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely and quality completion. -Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.

What You Bring
-Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field. -Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies. -Strong understanding of substation components including transformers, breakers, disconnect switches, buswork, and grounding systems. -Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. -Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe. -Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. -Familiarity with utility standards and practices. -Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation) and engineering software. -7+ years of experience in substation physical design engineering.
