Tasks

-Guide in creative direction and uphold HOK’s commitment to human-centered design. -Refine design strategy, assess client portfolios, and shape long-term success. -Align design efforts with budgets and schedules to maintain financial performance. -Ensure seamless project delivery, integrating consultant expertise. -Support marketing efforts through proposals, presentations, and design narratives. -Alongside the Director of Interiors, cultivate client relationships and a robust project pipeline in the Washington, DC region. -Advance design standards that reflect innovation and quality. -Lead design reviews and oversee strategic workload allocation. -Align design milestones with project schedules in collaboration with project managers. -Represent HOK in meetings and presentations, translating client needs into compelling design solutions. -Integrate responsible, environmentally conscious practices into all projects. -Promote sustainable materials and innovative design solutions. -Collaborate with leadership and subject matter experts to secure strategic projects across aviation, healthcare, justice, sport, and science. -Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and client-first solutions. -Inspire and coach teams to elevate performance and professional growth. -Contribute to workload projections and efficient resource management. -Build infrastructure and talent alongside the Director of Interiors.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with LEED/Fit Well/WELL guidelines and integrated sustainable design practices. -Strategic mindset balancing creative vision with operational priorities. -Registered Architect with current license accepted; NCARB certification preferred. -Proficiency in visualization tools such as SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and 3D modeling software such as 3ds Max and VIZ. -Experience with Deltek Vision preferred. -NCIDQ certification required for Interior Designers. -Strong mentorship skills with the ability to inspire high-performing teams. -Business acumen in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client management. -LEED accreditation is required within 6 months of hiring. -Bachelor's degree in interior design or architecture required; master's degree preferred. -Expertise in interior architecture, construction methods, FF&E, finishes, lighting, art, signage, and color theory. -Strong working knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows. -Proven leadership in large-scale interior design projects with a portfolio highlighting excellence. -Minimum of 15 years in a large-scale interiors or architectural firm, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
