Overview
Estimate and procure high-quality materials at lowest cost for construction projects.

Tasks
-Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Work with estimators and engineers to develop and issue RFP’s for subcontracts, engineered equipment and permanent materials. -Communicate with all bidders during the estimate phase to make sure we have coverage and competitive bids for all scopes. -Estimate the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost per specifications and drawings. -Use internal and external software for solicitations and cost management. -Learn our processes and procedures as they relate to all of our estimating and reporting. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Maintain vendor relationship to support all of our work. -Maintain all correspondence and workflow in Kiewit’s SharePoint project sites. -Communicate with estimators and engineers to verify the received quotes are accurate and meet our requirements. -Research and evaluate bidders based on price, quality, service, support, availability, reliability, lead-times and Kiewit history.

-Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills -Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, construction management or related degree preferred -1-2 years’ experience in an estimating, procurement, engineering and/or construction related role preferred -Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time -Basic knowledge of all areas of procurement, including procurement execution, estimating, expediting, offsite supplier quality and site purchasing preferred -Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity -General knowledge of database utilization -Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail -Regular, reliable attendance -Ability to travel and relocate as needed -Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
