Tasks

-Managing variation registers, risk logs and CVRs. -Attending networking events and building relationships to support long-term business growth. -Drafting contractual notices and advising clients on claim procedures and strategy. -Ensuring accurate and detailed time recording for all project-related work. -Attending and leading project meetings, including those involving challenging discussions. -Preparing detailed and accurate project reports. -Leading the preparation and review of tender and contract documentation, including Bills of Quantities. -Assessing tenders and identifying commercial risks for clients. -Monitoring and reporting on project costs and variations -Preparing and agreeing final accounts confidently. -Sharing relevant learning materials and promoting continuous professional development across the team. -Identifying and developing new business opportunities with existing or potential clients. -Advising on procurement strategies, contract selection and preparation of procurement reports. -Supporting junior team members, including those working toward APC. Acting as APC Supervisor when required. -Establishing and interpreting client requirements for cost planning and project delivery. -Providing accurate cost planning and value engineering advice across RIBA design stages. -Valuing completed works and arranging interim payments in accordance with contract terms. -Handling contractual claims and advising on dispute resolution strategies.

What You Bring

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic and growing consultancy with a strong pipeline of work across a variety of sectors. This role is ideal for a driven individual who is either Chartered or close to achieving Chartered status, and is looking to take the lead on complex projects while mentoring junior staff. -Experience working for both consultancies and contractors. -Confident in high-pressure or complex project situations. -Excellent IT and report-writing skills. -A full UK driving licence. -Experience using CostX or similar measurement software -Background in both building and civil engineering projects -Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented. -MRICS qualified. -Significant knowledge of construction techniques, principles and building economics. -Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline -A demonstrable record of initiative and business development capabilities.

Benefits

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 -Tailored training and development. -25days annual leave plus bank holidays. -4.5 day working week. 8am – 5:30pm – Monday to Thursday with half hour lunch break. 8am – 12:30pm on Friday – 40.5 hours in total. -Flexi working. -Private Health care. -Discretionary bonus. -Working toward personal fee recovery of 2.5x cost to the business and contributing to project profitability. -Just eat voucher weekends, national trust memberships and tv sweepstakes plus team socials.
