The Role
Overview
Assist with weekly union payroll, tax filings, and personnel record maintenance.

Tasks
-Assist in processing weekly union payroll and its associated reports accurately and timely. -Maintain new/terminated list of employees. -Prepare and distribute federal, state, and SDU payments, maintain payroll tax ledger. -Partner with others in the department to ensure all work is accurate, deadlines are met, and procedures are followed. -Establish and maintain records of transactions where follow-up action is required and recommend action for closing. -Process incoming personnel forms and timesheets per established procedures, which includes verifying completeness of documents, coding data for processing, etc. -Work with supervisor to develop efficient methods of accomplishing specific functions. -Prepare special reports and complete other projects as directed. -Coordinate and process general administrative work (routing of field/office timesheets, maintain vacation log, unemployment notices, verification of employment, IDES report, SDU. -Review and enter new hire paperwork for field employees, review I9 forms, enter information into E-Verify -Maintain new hire kits and filing for field employees. -Assist in resolving discrepancies on reports or payroll checks by interacting with the PM’s or field personnel. -Assist with the monthly processing of union reports; and benefit payments, tracking pension totals.

What You Bring
-Knowledge of general construction accounting, invoicing, and union payroll a plus. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential. -Proactive work ethic, demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality. -Working knowledge of or the ability to learn Viewpoint/Vista/ERP software. -Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize work assignments, make sound decisions, and produce accurate and timely results. -Working knowledge and ability to operate a 10 key calculator accurately. -High school diploma or its equivalent with at least two years related experience and/or training in the field; or an equivalent combination of education and payroll experience. -Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word). -Accurate and efficient keyboarding.
