CAD Technician

Overview

Draft electrical, transmission, or civil drawings using AutoCAD under supervision.

Tasks

-Perform engineering support tasks under direct supervision (e.g. transmittals) -Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party -Learn and apply the corporate/client standard of drafting and engineering practices -Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work -Learn and properly use document management systems -Revise CADD drawings per engineering markups

What You Bring

-Experience with AutoCAD 2010 and newer is required. -This position requires minimal physical effort. -Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with co-workers -College level geometry -Ability to work in a team environment -Basic drafting including drawing scales, drawing layouts (Paperspace/Modelspace), and accurately reproducing engineering markups -Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments -Experience with Microstation preferred but not required -Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day -May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time. -3D CADD experience preferred but not required -Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%) -CADD, word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail software
