Tasks

-Perform specification, sizing, and selection for various types of I&C components, and produce component related documentation including assessment documents, setpoint calculations, error analyses, technical specifications, etc. -Perform conceptual and/or detailed design of instrumentation and control systems, including definition of system functional and performance requirements, definition of control logic and wiring arrangements, control parameters, setpoints, instrument ranges and environmental qualification and seismic qualification. -Conduct technical assessments and emergent troubleshooting/engineering to support new build projects and existing operating units. -Perform electrical analysis, equipment protection, cable and electrical equipment selection -Perform engineering design and analysis following established Engineering design and change control procedures -Stay current with developments within their field of expertise. -Understand and assess client problems and determine appropriate means of solution. -Interface effectively with other staff on multi-disciplinary design and technical projects. -Interface with construction/procurement partners and utility stakeholders, throughout the lifecycle of the design project (i.e., from preliminary and conceptual engineering to detailed design, implementation and close-out) to provide practical and effective solutions as per requirements. -Provide electrical power distribution engineering analysis for new and existing nuclear power plants and designs including advanced reactors. -Develop life cycle plans, including inspection and test programs -Perform condition assessments of electrical equipment such as transformers, breakers, switch gears, electric motors, motor control centers, generators and other power plant equipment -Provide field support for design and design modifications, including provision of field engineering.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/I&C Engineering -Familiarity with rigorous engineering change control processes and application of QA programs -Experience with Small Modular Reactor or Advance Reactor designs is an asset. -Strong knowledge of generating station power upgrades including necessary system protection/system stability and relaying -Experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions. -Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have demonstrated a high commitment to quality. -Knowledge of the life cycle management of electrical equipment. -Candidates are expected to have or to pursue attainment of the P.Eng. designation. -Good working knowledge of basic generation plant design/operation related to Nuclear power plants, skid-based designs, or international power projects. -Excellent problem-solving skills. -A minimum of 5 years relevant experience is considered necessary. -Experience in performing condition assessments of electrical equipment such as transformers, breakers, switch gears, electric motors, motor control centers, generators and other power plant equipment -Good time management skills and demonstrated capability to interface effectively with and gain the trust of customers. -Experience in project management and interfacing with and coordinating activities of multi-disciplinary teams. -Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical design engineering -Proven track record in electrical design and analysis in electrical power distribution or industrial instrumentation and control, including application to nuclear plants -In depth knowledge and experience of use of appropriate codes and standards, as applied to nuclear plant and conventional plants.
