The Role

Overview

Design, analysis and support of water/wastewater mechanical processes and equipment.

Tasks

-Construction services support (e.g., shop drawing review). -Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. -Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer. -Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision -Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision. -Evaluation and selection of process equipment, pumping systems, pipe materials, and valves under the supervision of an experienced engineer. -Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. -Identifies discrepancies in results. -Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. -Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. -Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

What You Bring

-Builds analytic and design skills. -Proficient with AutoCAD and REVIT. -Ability to work with a diverse team. -Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. -Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. -Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines. -4+ years of experience in design and layout of mechanical process piping, valves, equipment, etc. -Excellent oral and written communication skills. -Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture. -Experienced, self-directed professional. -Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment. -Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations. -Experience in the water/wastewater industry. -Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered. -Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical or mechanical engineering + 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. -Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review.
