The Role

Overview

Advise, manage, and improve workplace health & safety compliance and programs.

Tasks

-Supports and advises the company on all aspects of workplace health and safety; -Manages workplace accident files and participates in return-to-work processes (temporary assignments and rehabilitation); -Collaborates and coordinates certain files with external stakeholders such as doctors, subcontractors, WorkSafe NB, regional safety consortiums, etc.; -Prepares and posts weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual health and safety statistics; -Prepares, attends, and follows up on Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings (quotes and bids, inspections, observations, expert consultants, training, incident and investigation reports, statistics, etc.); -Ensures health and safety orientation for new office and plant employees; -Continuously improves all aspects of the company (sound tests, air quality tests, new equipment) and stays up-to-date with TSNB (WorkSafe NB) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act; -Prepares, writes, presents, and updates directives, policies and procedures, regulations, work instructions, weekly safety tips, alerts, protocols, etc.; -Participates in risk analysis of equipment and workstations with corrective measures, ergonomics, tools, etc.; -Manages the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). -Prepares, attends, and follows up on meetings with individuals involved in various matters (space issues, ergonomics, heat tests, internal and external audits, inspections by WorkSafe NB officers, etc.);

What You Bring

-Strong numerical skills and mastery of applicable laws and regulations; -Social skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team; -Written and spoken French and English are required; -Availability to work outside regular business hours; -College diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent experience; -Effective communication skills verbally, by phone, and by email with company management, colleagues, and external stakeholders; -Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint); -Must possess all documents required to work legally in Canada. -Time management and prioritization skills, organizational sense;
