The Role

Overview

Inspect civil and infrastructure construction, ensuring quality, compliance, and safety.

Tasks

-Provide mentorship and guidance to junior inspectors or technicians as needed. -Conduct comprehensive inspections of civil and infrastructure construction activities, including but not limited to earthwork, concrete placement, drainage systems, asphalt paving, structural components, and utility installations (water, sewer, etc.). -Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction schedules to ensure work meets design intent. -Document daily construction progress, maintain field reports, and communicate inspection results and non-conformance issues to project teams. -Perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials to verify conformance with project specifications and industry standards. -Maintain accurate and organized project records and assist with closeout documentation. -Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and public agencies to resolve technical issues and maintain project alignment with scope, schedule, and budget. -Ensure safety protocols are being followed on-site and report any unsafe conditions or violations. -Calculate quantities for payment applications and verify contractor-submitted quantities.

What You Bring

-Other certifications such as ODOT, NICET, HMA field, concrete field; American Concrete Institute (ACI) concrete field testing, etc. will be considered. -ACI Level I Certification -Proficient in reading construction drawings, field documentation, and project specifications. -Solid understanding of construction methods, specifications, codes, and safety practices. -Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with stakeholders and team members. -ODOT Compaction -Preferred Certifications include: -Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection or construction materials testing, with increasing responsibility. -Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
