The Role

Overview

Ensures on‑time customer deliveries by coordinating supply chain, production and logistics.

Tasks

-Create plans to react appropriately to urgent customer requirements and communicate actions required to the operating departments. -Facilitate order identification, order entry, and flow path management for outside processing of the orders and flow paths assigned to them. -Support scheduling of production centers as needed. -Interface regularly with external customers, including conference calls and plant visits. -Provide systems, written, and verbal communication within the Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Shipping areas to prioritize activities that drive customer delivery performance while balancing operating efficiencies, costs, and inventory impacts. -Improve delivery performance by increasing focus on connections of downstream Production Centers to their suppliers. -Provide direction to outside processors as needed. -Monitor metal allocation for depot orders, planning material flow to supply metal to customer orders on time with the appropriate lead time. -Act as a change agent within Supply Chain to drive systemic delivery solutions for the plant. -Support occasional coverage of weekend Supply Chain duties in a rotation with other team members. -Coordinate changes to customer orders between Sales, Operating, Metallurgical and Supply Chain Management.

What You Bring

-Must be able to demonstrate multi-tasking skills and be able to work independently and with cross functional teams. -Strong problem solving and communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of the organization required -5 years of experience in supply chain management. -Must be detail oriented, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision -1-3 years of manufacturing experience -A high-level understanding of the capabilities of the production equipment in the plant. -1-3 years of experience in supply chain or logistics field. -Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or business-related field. -Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. -Proficient in the use of components in the Microsoft office suite -Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution -Conceptual, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are necessary. -A working knowledge of ABS tools or lean manufacturing principles. -Prior experience within supply chain management customer service as well as a working knowledge of fabricating and administrative processes in the plant order fulfillment process, is preferred.
