Tasks
-Provides support during construction phase, exhibiting an understanding of construction methodologies, techniques and associated working space. -Assists in the preparation of proposal packages and exhibits. -Develops working relationships with outside contacts such as utilities, regulatory agencies, and sub-consultants as directed by supervisor. -Independently prepares project plans, specifications, estimates, calculate quantities, performs structural calculations, and prepares reports, and exhibits. -Provides QC support by following the appropriate procedures as outlined. -Performs quality control measures and audits quality control measures for compliance. -Mentors and manages internal design team members. -Prepares detailed design and quantity calculations in a clear and organized manner. -Works closely with CAD drafters on the preparation of detailed plans. -Prepares calculations using current engineering design software (SAP 2000, VBridge, VBent, WinABUD, Xtract, etc.). -Provides ongoing training as directed or desired; participates in established internal training programs and development opportunities. -Reviews and uses design manuals, agency standards and procedures. -Communicates technical and promotional material to staff, clients and subconsultants effectively. -Maintains close attention to project work scopes, budgets, and schedules. -Leads large project team(s) to successful delivery of quality PS&E (plans, specifications & estimates) packages. -Leads technical aspects of proposal efforts regarding approach, design elements and client's needs.

What You Bring
-Structural Engineer (SE) license a plus. -Demonstrated ability to delegate and lead design groups. -Gains knowledge of scope, budgets, agreements, and financial reporting systems. -BS in Civil or Structural Engineering, concentration in structures strongly preferred; MS in Civil or Structural Engineering a plus. -Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities. -Demonstrated knowledge of construction practices. -Demonstrated proficiency knowledge of SAP 2000, VBridge, VBent, WinABUD, XTRACT or similar design programs. -Demonstrated proficiency knowledge of general engineering principals, statics, dynamics of structures and general engineering design. -Demonstrated proficiency knowledge of MS Office, including MS Word and MS Excel. -California Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to obtain it within a year if registered in another state. -Demonstrated ability to direct and delegate work assignments. -Demonstrated proficiency knowledge of Auto CAD or MicroStation. -Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management skills and tools. -6-8+ years of progressive relevant structural engineering experience. -Effective written and verbal skills. -Demonstrated proficiency knowledge of structural design for reinforced concrete, basic knowledge of structural design for steel, timber, and masonry a plus.
