Manage and track hazardous materials program at Hill AFB, providing training and support.

Tasks

-Coordinate and lead Environmental team site visits of Hill AFB shops. -Provide EESOHMIS training and support to new hires and program users as needed. -Schedule and coordinate quarterly HM team conference meetings. -Technical writing, including client emails, meeting agendas and minutes, updates to HM Program guidance and training materials, etc. -Provide support to the HM Program for “cradletograve” tracking of all Hazardous Materials used on the installation. -Perform onsite HM audits at Hill AFB shops. -Provide analysis of HM datasets and custom reports using MS Access, Excel, and EESOHMIS. -Support implementation of the installation Environmental Management System (EMS) as it relates to the HM Program. -Provide HM storage and compatibility training to Hill AFB shop personnel. -Daily client/customer support, answering HMrelated questions, recommending HM Program updates, and EESOHMIS administration during regularly scheduled business hours (0700 – 1700). -Work closely with shop and HM personnel to ensure all HM is tracked in the Air Force’s HM tracking system (EESOHMIS). -Administrative tasks in support of the HM Programs such as file management and organization, uploading documents to local SharePoint sites, printing, copying, etc.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Access, etc. -Ability to obtain 40hour HAZWOPER certification. -Ability to manage multiple tasks and actions simultaneously. -Ability to comfortably teach classes of up to 50100 people. -Ability to pivot or react quickly should an obstacle or hazardous situation arise. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Ability to walk long distances. -Two years’ experience or posthigh school degree/certificate in a related field. -Ability to drive onsite due to proximity of building locations; inclement weather, and size of the base. -Experience using relational databases and large datasets preferred. -Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred. -Ability to understand and interpret legal and other requirements such as EPA, NFPA and OSHA codes, AF policies, etc. -Experience managing hazardous material or waste programs preferred. -Ability to lift items overhead. -Ability to climb ladders. -Valid driver’s license. -Ability to work independently and be selfmotivated. -Experience working at military installations or with military preferred. -Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers and clients. -Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
