The Role
Overview
Inspect and document civil construction projects, monitor progress, and test materials.
Key Responsibilities

Tasks
-Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing -Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipelines -Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects -Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress

What You Bring
-Ability to interpret construction schedules -Technical school or Associate degree -This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing -Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection -High School diploma or equivalent -Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) -KYTC certifications, other KYTC certifications or the ability to obtain -Strong written communication skills -Experience with SiteManager software -Ability to work independently and as part of a team
