Overview

Lead MEP preconstruction bidding, risk assessment, and strategy for large projects.

Tasks

-Carry out a full review of the MEP scope of works and undertake technical appraisals identifying any risk or gaps and mitigation measures required and ensuring these are suitable resolved or strategy established prior to settlements. -Close commercial and design liaison, working alongside and managing the design, estimating and production teams, combined with input into the overall management of the project. -Lead and contribute to project co-ordination meetings. -Communicate internally within the group and its departments and externally with designers and other stakeholders.Technically review pre-contract documents. -To produce and execute value engineering ideas throughout the process. -Plan and manage all aspects of bids providing subject matter expertise. -Contribute to the planning of activities through development of the programme. -Create detailed documents to convey method of construction to the client. -Support and carry out both strategic and day to day management to ensure that all desired preconstruction opportunities are effectively serviced to provide the highest quality offering is submitted. -Establish winning strategies and written plans for quality led bids. -Develop, demonstrate, and maintain the highest standards of offering from the MEP bid function in relation to accuracy, risk assessment, predictability of outcome and supply chain selection. -Support and establish MEP bid strategies including supply chain selection, commercial strategies / route to margin, risk, and opportunity. -Lead and contribute reviewing of prequalification documents and tenders.

What You Bring

-Surveying/setting out desired but not essential -Be fully conversant with all construction related policies and directives from health and safety to CDM. -Knowledge of Project Procedures. -Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics, and construction documents. -Degree / HND in Civil Engineering/Commercial Management and Quantity SurveyingSSSTS/SMSTS (relevant type) -Good Communication skills. -IT literacy – Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. -Understanding of safety procedures and recognition of hazards. -Ability to set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary. -Effective management, capable of controlling projects with tender values of up to £1+ billion.
