-Understand and comply with customer and Kinder Morgan's rules and policies. -Perform work as assigned and directed by Foreman. -Load and offload rail/tank cars, ships and barges. -Perform all work in strict accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures. -Record product temperature and levels in storage tanks. -Perform or assist in the performance of preventive and regular maintenance duties. -Become a member of the Emergency Response Team. -Perform all work in strict accordance with operating policies, procedures and checklists. -Climb ladders and work at high elevations, using the proper safety equipment -Climb tank stairs, operate valves and pumps, gauge tanks. -Maintain training in Safety and Hazmat requirements at the facility. -Assist Operations with product transfer alignments including piping, pumps and associated valves.
-Must be able to work on docks -Requires turning and tightening nuts and bolts lifting up to 50 pounds at times. -Regularly exposed to outside in adverse weather conditions and also but not limited to: heights in excess of 5 feet, work in confined spaces and in elevated work areas, etc. -Must train in Safety and Hazmat requirements at the facility -Ability to identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns. -Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones such as background checks by the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC). -Proficient in comprehension of written work orders -Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, squat, reach, etc. for extended periods of time. -Must pass and complete Safety training/certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan at all locations. -Must be willing and able to work as a part of team, take direction from supervisor(s), keep required work schedules, focus attention to details, and follow work rules. -Able to work with wrenches and pipe wrenches and other tools -High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required. -The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed -Must be willing to work day or night shift schedule as assigned and overtime with little to no notice during the week, weekends, holiday, etc. as needed for operational needs. -In order to appropriately perform the essential duties of this job, regular work attendance is required. -Basic math skills required -Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, etc. for extended periods of time -Ability to carry a company issued cell phone/radio and be on-call during and after regular business and non-working hours including after dark hours, for work as may be required, assigned and scheduled as dictated by operations -Able to handle working with chemicals, acids and petroleum products and be around vapors with respiratory protection -Some College Education preferred. -Must be able to pass respiratory fit testing. -Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers and must be willing to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment. -Must be able to effectively communicate verbally. -Regularly lift and/or move a up to 50 pounds
