The Role

Lead construction projects in ND, overseeing finances, contracts, team, and safety.

Tasks

-Allocate project estimate into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices -Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections -Handle billings, contract management, and change orders -Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliers -Manage overall financial health of projects -Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedules -Provide financials and billings to accounting, create monthly owner billings -Manage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and selections of trade partners -Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, provide feedback

What You Bring

-Current driver’s license -Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position. -Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills -Ability to travel and be full-time on a project site in the North Dakota region -Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. -Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies -Minimum six years of related previous experience -Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices -Proven ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projects -Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience -Our postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days and an average of 44 days. -Preference for candidates with experience in one or more of the following: commercial construction, renewable energy project development, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies. -Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks -Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
