Overview

Design secondary systems for electrical substations using CAD tools.

Tasks

-Create detailed wiring diagrams, control schematics, and panel layouts for substation secondary systems. -Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all design work -Conduct technical reviews of substation design drawings and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance. -Review and analyse project requirements, providing technical solutions and recommendations for secondary systems. -Develop and produce detailed secondary system designs for electrical substations using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD. -Develop interface drawings for substation equipment and ensure proper integration of secondary systems. -Design and layout protection and control schemes. -Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure designs meet project specifications and standards. -Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

What You Bring

-Tertiary studies in a relevant field are highly regarded for this position. However, candidates with substantial hands-on experience and a proven track record in HV Electrical Design Drafting will also be considered. A combination of relevant qualifications and practical experience are desirable. -Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD software is essential. -Strong understanding of electrical design principles, standards, and best practices in the industry. -Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects efficiently. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. -Previous experience in secondary systems design for electrical substations would be preferred. -Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
