Tasks

-Supervise staff daily activities and participate directly in the completion of projects -Mentor staff and projects budgets and teams -To function as a Group Manager for a small but growing municipal design engineering group and as Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager on civil infrastructure projects with focus on detailed design for municipal infrastructure and municipal transportation facilities -Prepare designs and contract specifications for a wide variety of projects -Lead and direct business development activities primarily in the Waterloo Region area including preparation of proposals and statement of qualifications -Support design changes during construction and work directly with construction staff -Manage staff productivity, performance, billability and utilization -Foster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus -Participate in and/or lead project coordination between other design disciplines, management of project schedule and budget

What You Bring

-Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads and Civil3D an asset -Familiarity with Southern Ontario and Waterloo Region area market conditions, and more specifically the public and private sector client base in and around the Waterloo Region area -Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed in an established teamwork environment -Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, remote communications tools, collaboration tools and applications including SharePoint and the full suite of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft 365 -Ability and desire to work independently as well as in groups with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, project teams, and clients -Familiarity with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process an asset -Keen analytical and decision-making skills, with commitment to excellence and high-quality work -Excellent technical understanding and strong verbal and written communication skills are expected -Bachelor’s University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university -At least 15+ years of Civil Engineering experience in the consulting services industry including roles with management and business development responsibilities -Experience with all aspects of preliminary and detailed design of linear infrastructure and municipal roadways -P.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with PEO) is required
