Tasks

An exciting opportunity has become available for a proactive HSEQ Officer to drive health, safety, environment, and quality initiatives across our Rocklea manufacturing operations and Permanent Modular Construction (PMC) projects at client sites. Reporting to our National HSEQ/HR Manager, you’ll work closely with operational leaders to provide practical HSEQ support, driving improvements in safety performance, compliance, and engagement. This role will suit someone who’s hands-on, adaptable, and eager to learn—whether you’re an experienced HSEQ professional or a developing graduate ready to grow. -Manage and submit monthly HSEQ reports, ensuring documentation is timely, accurate, and aligned with business requirements. -Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility obligations and promote a shared accountability model. -Support the management of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and associated documentation for both ATCO employees and on-site contractors. -Conduct thorough and engaging HSEQ inductions for all new starters, embedding a strong safety-first mindset from day one. -Champion continuous improvement in safety systems, processes, and reporting tools. -Lead and support investigations into incidents and hazards, ensuring root causes are identified and lessons are shared. -Build strong partnerships with supervisors, team leaders, and workers to coach and influence safety behaviour and decision-making. -Deliver engaging training, toolbox talks, and support safety meetings. -Monitor risk controls and support Critical Risk Verification programs. -Embed ATCO’s HSEQ strategy, systems, and wellbeing initiatives across the manufacturing site. -Collaborate with national HSEQ and operational teams to deliver consistent, high-impact outcomes.

What You Bring

You must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this position. -Demonstrated experience in a similar HSEQ Advisor or Officer role within a manufacturing environment. -Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and cloud-based reporting platforms (e.g., Donesafe). -Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, critical risk controls, and ISO standards. -A current Driver’s Licence and White Card. -Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management, and incident investigation frameworks. -Excellent communication and coaching skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. -Certificate IV in WHS (minimum); relevant tertiary qualifications highly regarded.
