Tasks

-Review and approve work orders, progress reports, field changes, invoices, as-built records and bid contracts to ensure compliance with company standards and policies -Drive results through performance management of external and indirect resources including setting expectations, evaluating results, and taking corrective action as needed -Direct “root-cause” analysis on any self-inflicted gas damage or customer outage related to construction -Coordinate with internal and external service providers and support other units to take action in the field and ensure that work is performed as planned, permitted, and scheduled -Champion Quality Assurance (e.g., policies, procedures, standards) and Quality Control on all capital construction projects -Maintain customer satisfaction through timely and thorough communication with customers, municipalities and other governmental agencies such as DOTS, Counties, etc., including serving as initial contact for new business construction inquiries for developers, builders, homeowners, and Service Center personnel -Oversee construction of gas utility infrastructure for residential, commercial, and industrial properties, including supervising and inspecting all construction activities like safety, compliance, quality, locates and restoration -Influence external contractors who represent the company by exhibiting the organization’s values

What You Bring

-High School/GED -CWPI or CWI -Negotiation skills -Experience in gas industry focused on capital construction and maintenance and/or experience in field inspection activities, project control activities, process improvements, business systems, or similar -Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products -Strong communication with all levels of the organization -Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience. -Contract and performance management capabilities -Ability to walk construction sites and potentially drive for up to four (4) hours at a time -Outstanding interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships -5+ years of overseeing construction and/or distribution operations in a gas utility or equivalent work experience
