-Actively monitor project budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities through design optimization without compromising quality or safety. -Generate comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed mechanical specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and user-friendly technical manuals. -Lead the mechanical design process to strictly comply with relevant industry standards and regulations (ANSI, IEEE, IEC, local codes). -Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for all components, considering cost-effectiveness, performance requirements, and industry best practices. -Stay abreast of emerging standards, innovative materials, and cutting-edge design methodologies. -Investigate and resolve any mechanical quality issues or non-conformities identified during production or in the field. -Develop comprehensive mechanical designs for switchboard enclosures, busbars, and structural components, utilizing advanced CAD software to create detailed 2D and 3D models. -Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, design teams, and project managers to achieve project objectives seamlessly. -Ensure that switchboard design complies with relevant design practices, electrical codes, and safety standards such as UL891, UL67, UL508A, UL50, the National Electric Code (NEC), the New York City Electric Code (NYCEC), ANSI, IEEE, IEC, the Utility Standard, and local regulations. -Provide technical support for maintenance and repair activities on deployed switchboard products. -Assist in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues that may arise in the field. -Maintain accurate records of all design changes, revisions, and updates. -Employ simulation and analysis tools to optimize designs for superior performance, reliability, and thermal management. -Verify switchboard designs meet stringent mechanical performance and safety standards (e.g., UL, NEC).
