Lead planner for Energy & Utilities projects, managing schedules and a team

Tasks

-Assist in the development of project practices and procedures. -Undertake reporting requirements of internal and external stakeholders. -Work across the Bid and Delivery stages of multiple projects. -Prepare resource and cost loaded detailed project delivery schedules, for allocated projects/work packages, using past construction knowledge and experience that accurately reflect the conditions of the contract, design and specifications. -Manage/ undertake, review and analysis of sub-contractor schedules to confirm alignment with good scheduling practice and Downer standards and requirements. -Lead team of planners across Australia and New Zealand -Maintain and update the project schedule, where applicable, incorporating subcontract schedules, to ensure appropriate execution of work package plans are completed as required. -Ensure compliance with Downer’s Standards and requirements as set by Utilities Performance Commercial & Risk Team, in terms of Schedule Quality and Change Management. -Perform delay analysis as needed by the Contract and support with suitable narrative.

What You Bring

-Certifications/Competence on Primavera P6 Scheduling tool (Required) -Previous experience in supporting Senior Leadership Teams in large organisations -Previous experience in Earned Value Management System -Strong communication skills and people management skills -10+ years site construction experience on water, power transmission, substation, networks or plant shutdown projects -Extension of Time and Delay Analysis -Tertiary qualification – Degree, or equivalent, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management or Project Management preferred -Risk Management (Desirable) -Microsoft Visio knowledge and working experience -Leadership and management experience -Analytical skills and self-discipline -A Project Management certification (Desirable) -Oracle DB knowledge and qualifications -Excellent knowledge and understanding of CPM scheduling concepts and delay analysis techniques -Microsoft PowerBi (Desirable) and developing reporting dashboards -Previous commercial experience in planning and scheduling for small and large projects using Primavera P6 (essential) and Microsoft Project (used predominately) for subcontract program management.
