The Role

Assist in preparing and analyzing cost estimates for renewable energy projects.

Tasks

-Help identify risks and opportunities to support a high-quality risk register -Assist in gathering and incorporating benchmark data, trends, and historical pricing to support detailed cost estimates -Assist in generating bid schedules for RFP packages -Collaborate with Developers, Engineers, Preconstruction Project Managers, and Project Execution team members to determine the best construction approach -Accountable for reviewing and validating work prepared by junior team members, and providing oversight or task coordination as needed -Support the creation of indicative and detailed estimates using various estimating methods and software tools -Update and maintain the pricing database -Help organize and participate in project hand-off meetings -Support the review and abstraction of contractor bids -Facilitate estimate review sessions for assigned projects, aligning teams and resolving issues with support from senior team members -Assist in executing project contracts and processing change orders and invoices -Read and interpret contract documents, studies, and permits -Ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables, with growing independence in task ownership

What You Bring

-Strong business acumen, detail-oriented, and a sound understanding of business concepts -Proficient in estimating software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, and Teams -Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to build productive internal relationships and manage customer relationships -Responds well to direction, is coachable, and open to professional development -Construction experience is preferred -Capable of independently leading estimate review sessions and addressing gaps across departments -Bachelor’s degree of Science in Engineering or Construction in a related field from an accredited university -Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time -Strong math, computer, and analytical skills, including benchmarking, should cost analysis, and leveraging project data to stress test assumptions -Willingness and ability to travel to and from job sites as assigned (up to 25% of the time) -Demonstrated desire to learn about the company and the renewables space -Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating, preferably within the renewable energy sector -Experience identifying and mitigating risks, determining associated costs, and supporting high-quality risk registers -Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds -Broad understanding of renewable energy technologies, with specialization in at least one area -Demonstrated leadership, organization, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic environment -Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, adaptable to changing priorities, and able to multi-task while working independently or as part of a team -Professional expertise in estimating functions, with the ability to resolve a variety of issues and apply advanced analytical skills -This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations
