Tasks

You’ll act as the first technical point of contact for customers exploring solar and battery solutions. This is a senior, autonomous position, you’ll lead consultations, design systems end-to-end, explain technical choices, negotiate margins in plain English, and close projects independently. -Pricing designs using Simpro (or similar style software). -Run structured Zoom / phone consultations with homeowners, capturing goals, usage data and property details. -Re-design and refine proposals following technical surveys. -Recommend appropriate products across our range – panels, mounting systems (In-roof, on-roof and ground mounted solar), inverters and batteries (Tesla, Sigenergy, GivEnergy). -Collaborate with Claire (Admin) and the operations team to ensure a smooth handover. -Manage the consideration and sales process — check in with customers, encourage them through the pipeline, and maintain consistent communication until a decision is made. -Produce accurate first-stage solar & battery designs and indicative costings using EasyPV. -Contribute to the continual improvement of Apex Doma’s design playbooks and customer journey. -Maintain precise records and notes in HubSpot CRM.

Our YouTube channel and transparent approach attract hundreds of homeowners who value honest guidance from qualified professionals rather than salespeople. We’re now looking for an experienced Solar Design Consultant to strengthen the front end of our sales and design process. You’ll join a high-trust, engineering-led team where attention to detail and technical confidence matter more than hard selling. If you’ve designed and delivered residential solar PV and battery projects before, and want to join an award-winning, education-driven renewables company, we’d love to hear from you. -Track record of closing projects in a consultative sales environment – education-first, not pressure-based. -Confident communicator capable of explaining complex concepts simply. -Professional presence and technical credibility. -Confidently present final systems, justify design rationale, and close sales while maintaining margin. -Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (preferably HubSpot). -Strong understanding of electrical principles for solar and battery systems (including G98 / G99 thresholds and export limits). -Calm, trust-building communication style. -Minimum 3 years’ proven experience designing and specifying residential/light commercial solar PV systems (roof-mount & battery integration). -Electrical qualification or engineering background preferred, but not essential. -Collaborative mindset – enjoys working with operations and engineering teams to deliver excellence. -Comfortable using EasyPV / OpenSolar or similar software. -Excellent attention to detail and self-organisation; able to run multiple leads independently.

Benefits
