The Role

Overview

Transport and handle materials for electricians, assist installations, ensure safety.

Tasks

-Clean and dispose of trash as directed by supervisors. -Assist electricians during the installation of new electrical systems or repair and maintain electrical systems. -Duties include cleanup activity, gathering and transporting materials and tools to electricians on the construction project. -Under the direction of the project foreman, receive, organize, and safely deliver material to the workforce. -May work either inside or outside in any weather (Cold, Snow, Rain, Heat) -Using a variety of hand and power tools, helper electricians productively and safely install electrical and low voltage material.

What You Bring

-Must be able to work off of ladders, man lifts, or reach booms, or other equipment previously certified to operate. -Executive Order 11246 including Pay Transparency Nondiscrimination Provision (41 C.F.R. part 60) -Must have use of arms and fingers to reach and handle material, tools and other equipment. -Must make use of feet, legs, hands and arms to climb and/or balance on scaffolding or ladders. -May be submitted as an approved Bergelectric driver to receive and deliver materials. -Must be able to see and hear or have corrected vision and hearing. -Lift 50 lbs. from the ground and pull 50 lbs. of force. -Must interact with clients, vendors, and Bergelectric employee in a professional manor. -Must be able to distinguish color coded wires. -Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, sometimes in cramped and awkward positions. -They must be in compliance with state and local codes. -May be required to obtain equipment certification to operate material handling equipment.

Benefits

-40-hour workweek is normal, though overtime is to be expected; electricians may work nights, weekends, on-call, or on emergencies -High noise levels.
