Tasks

-Drive adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools and processes (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates). -Conduct root-cause analyses for recurring issues and drive improvements to prevent future incidents. -Automate complex deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks to streamline operations and reduce human error. -Architect and implement scalable, highly available, and cost-efficient solutions using services such as EC2, S3, VMs, Kubernetes, or serverless offerings in AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms. -Align all technology proposals to business need -Propose and implement cost-saving strategies that maintain or improve performance, working closely with finance and management. -Collaborate with security teams to enforce identity/access management, data encryption, and other compliance best practices. -Effective Collaboration & Time Management: Uses Microsoft Teams to proactively keep colleagues informed and respects others’ time. Schedules meetings with clear agendas and correct attendees. Avoids procrastination by balancing collaborative and individual work efficiently. -Conduct regular reviews of security configurations and incident response procedures, mitigating risk across multiple environments. -Establish performance baselines and SLAs; monitor resource utilization to proactively identify bottlenecks. -Maintainability & Risk Mitigation: Champions maintainable systems and processes across the organization, resulting in minimal escaped defects. Identifies, prioritizes, and mitigates risks at a global level to ensure lasting stability and quality. -Provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, guiding them in best practices and cloud architecture patterns. -Serve as an escalation point for critical incidents. Perform advanced troubleshooting, ensuring quick resolution and minimal downtime. -Continuously research new cloud services, evaluating their potential to enhance performance, resilience, and security. -Champion cross-team knowledge-sharing through lunch-and-learn sessions, documentation, and design workshops.

-Company-Wide Presentations & Knowledge Sharing: Able to deliver formal presentations in a clear, compelling manner to large or executive audiences. Regularly shares relevant articles, industry trends, and leads training sessions (e.g., lunch-and-learns). -Documentation Leadership: Capable of leading design sketches and detailed documentation. Proactively cleans up “tech debt” in documentation to keep knowledge current and accessible. -Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell). -Strong knowledge of networking (VPCs, subnets, load balancing, VPNs, DNS) and security best practices (IAM, encryption, compliance frameworks). -Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience). -AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent. -Certifications (Preferred): -5–7+ years of experience working with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), designing complex infrastructures at scale. -Expert understanding of cloud-native services: compute, storage, databases, networking, and security. -Team Commitments & Ownership: Fully understands team deliverables and proactively mobilizes resources to meet deadlines. Seeks out additional responsibilities and leads initiatives confidently. -Ability to troubleshoot advanced performance issues, scaling constraints, and complex service interactions. -Active Listening & Clarity: Adept at paraphrasing key discussion points to confirm understanding and asking clarifying questions to ensure alignment. -Additional credentials (e.g., CISSP, CCNP, CKA) a plus. -Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS) and serverless architectures.
