Operations Technician

Overview

Operate and maintain a new wastewater treatment plant, monitoring processes and performing maintenance.

Tasks

-Identity faults, identify solutions & carry out basic repairs. -Undergo training as required and identify training needs -Work within the client and Company Quality, Health & Safety & Environment (QHSE) systems -Utilising plant information, identify any changes in system performance and/or potential operational problems and evaluate and make initial recommendations to return plant to its optimum operating condition. -Gather all systems information and complete plant logs to understand the function and operation of the WWTP on site. -Development and maintenance of good housekeeping practices -Establish and maintain professional relationships with customer personnel, Company employees and sub-contractor staff. -Carry out daily laboratory water analysis and promptly report any deviations to Site Management and Technical Team -Develop good team working behaviours with the client and other Company staff -Promptly raise any issues which could affect both the client and internally.

What You Bring

-Time served Technician/Fitter/Electrician/Mechanic -Operational and maintenance knowledge of wastewater treatment plant -Knowledge of Water and Wastewater treatment plants -Probationary Period – 6 months -Ability and knowledge to complete basic repairs and maintenance -Demonstrate the ability to work within a quality system -Notice – 1 week during probation, increasing to 1 month thereafter -To be able to demonstrate through previous work experience, an ability to interpret technical information to affect changes on the plant -Computer literate -Visible ownership on HSE issues at all levels both in the client organisation and internally. -A working knowledge of running electro-mechanical plant -NVQ Level 2 -Innovate in the workplace to deliver Continuous improvement and exploit opportunities. -Training in Environmental Health and Safety -Experience of working directly with sub-contractors -Nijhuis will welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate willingness to develop into the role as well as experienced applicants
